Strava + Meryus
If you love Strava for tracking but think its built-in challenges feel like an afterthought (buried in the app, only counting distance, only working for other Strava users), Meryus is what you want next to it. Connect once and every run, ride, walk, or swim flows into your friend challenges automatically.
Why Meryus, not Strava Clubs
- Better challenge UI. A clean real-time chart instead of a buried leaderboard.
- Any metric. Steps, sleep, reps, weight, HRV, not just distance.
- No ecosystem lock-in. Friends on Garmin or with no wearable can still join.
- Custom goals. "First to 200 miles in 60 days" or "every day forever". Your call.
- Private by default. No public feed, no kudos noise, no algorithm.
How the sync works
- Sign in to Meryus and tap "Connect Strava" in your profile.
- Approve the standard Strava OAuth permissions.
- Meryus subscribes to Strava webhooks for your account.
- Every time you finish an activity on Strava, it appears in your active challenges within seconds.
What syncs
- Distance (miles or kilometers)
- Moving and elapsed time
- Activity type (Run, Ride, Walk, Swim, Hike, etc.)
- Local start time, so a Tuesday run counts on Tuesday no matter the timezone
- Elevation gain
Duplicate protection
If you also connect Garmin, Meryus matches activities by start time and distance and counts each workout only once.
