When Strava Clubs is fine
Everyone in your group is already on Strava, the challenge is purely about distance or time, and you want public kudos and comments.
When Meryus is better
- You want a real challenge UI, not a sub-tab of a bigger app
- Your group is mixed: Strava, Garmin, or nothing
- You want to track steps, sleep, HRV, weight, or anything non-distance
- You want a small private group with no public feed
- You'd rather not install another app
